First Solo Cross Country
11-20-2016
My first Solo Cross Country was College Station (KCLL) - Houston County @ Crockett (KDKR) - Huntsville (KUTS) - College Station (KCLL). It was cold 32F. I did not know by then the trick of priming 7 times the Skycatcher, let set gas vapors por 30 second with primer full on, then prime one more time and start, thanks Gary for the trick ;). Then after a almost failed start, Christian help me hauling the airplane from north ramp and putting it into the hangar. Then once there blow some hot air from a hair dresser for 10 minutes in each air intake (it worked).
Take off was no issue, with high density, Skycatcher was floating as a charm.
My attempt to land at Crockett was a Go-Around, 90 degrees cross wind, short and narrow runway. Was not comfortable with the situation, It was above my limits. Then go-around was the right decision.
Then Huntsville was with cross wind as well, not 90 degrees with the runway, but close, it took me a while to e get into the pattern and stabilize my approach, but landing was nice.
Back to CLL left down to Rwy16 and made it before taxiway Bravo. Sometimes I rolled all the way to taxiway Charlie.
